How it works.

The Process

Step 1: Email me!

At this stage we will go over all the artwork details. I will require the reference photo for your artwork, your chosen size of the artwork, etc at this point.

Step 2: Pay Deposit.

I require a 50% non refundable deposit before I can begin on your artwork. This will be required via bank transfer as the payment method.

Step 3: The Drawing Begins.

I will notify you when I will be beginning work on the drawing. The drawing generally is completed within 2 weeks of starting on it depending on the size of the artwork. My admin team will then be in contact with you once the drawing is complete.

Step 4: Final Payment.

Once the artwork is complete you will be sent a photo of the final result and the final invoice. The payment is due immediately upon completion via bank transfer as the payment method.

Step 5: Postage.

Once your final payment has cleared on my side I will carefully pack your new artwork to be sent via Australia Post.

And then your drawing will be sent and on it’s way to you in no time!

Photo Reference

When picking your photo reference it is so important to pick a photo that really captures the subjects character and personality. On top of that the photo must be clear and high resolution/quality, preferably in natural light so I am able to see as much detail as possible (the more detail available in the photo = more detail I can capture in the artwork). It even helps if you can provide more than one photo you would be happy to have drawn so we can discuss what image will be the most ideal for the drawing.

Artwork Care

I use premium grade, heavy, acid free mixed media paper and top quality, light fast colour pencils to ensure your custom piece is built to last and looks it’s best for many years to come. UV light is the enemy of all artwork, I recommend that the final position of the drawing in your home or office be out of direct sunlight to ensure the artwork will look its best for a lifetime.

  • More than one subject can be added at an extra cost to larger paper sizes.

  • Most other paper sizes can be accommodated on request.

Before you book (terms & conditions):

  • Paper sizes are indicative of the size of the paper not the actual drawing.

  • You will receive a Darcy Porter Fine Art original colour pencil drawing. This will be complete in Darcy Porter Fine Art’s signature style and in their artistic expression of the photographic reference you have supplied and Darcy Porter Fine Art has agreed upon. It is best to be familiar with Darcy Porter Fine Art’s art style before making a booking by viewing their available portfolio online as you will be receiving a one of a kind piece modelled after the agreed photographic reference with full artistic licence taken by Darcy Porter Fine Art.

  • The drawing will be completed in the likeness of the subject detailed from the agreed upon photo reference. This means the reference supplied will be where the likeness of the subject is sampled, thus the quality of the photo reference is paramount and will directly affect the final result of the artwork (Lower quality image = less available detail to sample. Higher quality image = more available detail to sample). The photo reference will have to be approved by Darcy Porter Fine Art before they agree and proceed with the booking.

  • All artwork is copyrighted to Darcy Porter Fine Art and is not to be sold or published without written permission by Darcy Porter Fine Art.

  • All sharing on social media of Darcy Porter Fine Art’s artwork must be credited to Darcy Porter Fine Art and linked directly to Darcy Porter Fine Art’s corresponding social media business page.

  • Prices provided are not negotiable.

  • Darcy Porter Fine Art is not responsible for any damaged artwork or artwork that goes missing in the postal carriers hands.

  • A 50% deposit of the total commission cost is due before Darcy Porter Fine Art will begin on your artwork.

  • Deposit is non refundable.

  • No refunds available on any items.

  • Final payment is to be paid in full and is due immediately upon commission completion.

  • A late fee of 5% of the full commission price will be incurred every week after the commission is complete if payment isn’t made upon completion of the commission.

  • Darcy Porter Fine Art does not accept payment plans.

  • A deposit of 50% of the total commission cost is required to secure your booking and the final 50% of the total commission cost is due immediately upon completion of the artwork.

  • All payments are accepted via bank transfer only.

  • Artwork will not be posted to the client until the commission cost is cleared into Darcy Porter Fine Art’s elected bank account in full.

  • For additional subjects added to an artwork it will be at an extra cost indicated by Darcy Porter Fine Art at the time of booking when full details are discussed.

  • All requested details must be fully discussed at the time of booking via email with Darcy Porter Fine Art. Once booking is secured the artwork process is underway and changes to the artwork will not be possible/accepted.

  • Changes to artwork are not permitted.

  • Full creative licence lies with Darcy Porter Fine Art.

  • Portraits must have close up detailed high quality photo reference.

  • By paying your deposit you are agreeing to proceed with the commission & agreeing to all listed terms and conditions.
